Bridgeport Art Center Chicago Wedding Photos // Eddie + Michelle

Eddie and Michelle’s Chicago wedding was pretty incredible. We are so glad to have been a part of it to document and photograph every moment. Being Chicago’s best boutique wedding photography studio, we were very excited to see how the entire wedding day was planned out. Here’s some of the best moments…

Getting Ready & Preparations

While Michelle was getting ready with her squad, Eddie gifted his groomsmen vintage video game t-shirts to wear under their suits. This was a super awesome personal touch that we can all relate with – ummm, who didn’t love Starfox or Contra! I mean c’mon!

Eddie and the guys arrived at their house and were promptly greeted with Chinese door games – it’s a super fun custom where the groom and his friends have to do some fun activities to convince the bride they are worthy of her attention. There was plenty of booty shaking, dancing, makeup and they even had to break a wooden frame with their faces…check it out below.

Finally we had one of our favorite Chinese customs, the tea ceremony. A tea ceremony is a Chinese tradition wherein the bride and groom serve tea to their respective families, including parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, and other esteemed elders. The couple receives well wishes and gifts, and it’s an act of welcoming either the bride or the groom, thereby unifying both families. We love these ceremonies because they are so meaningful and intimate.

Wedding Portraits

Wedding portraits in Chicago are our speciality! We always geek out when it’s time for portraits. Our goal is to create a great mix of portraits. This includes portraits of just the couple and some photos of their wedding party. Some are artful portraits meant for walls – so when our couples look at their wall photos, they aren’t cheesy but rather fresh and always interesting.

We decided to visit Union Station, the French Market and the board of trade in Chicago. It was perfect because it gave the wedding portraits the kind of variety that we always look for as Chicago wedding photographers. Check out some of our favorite portraits below!

Bridgeport Art Center – we love you!!!

Very few wedding venues in Chicago offer the vibe that Bridgeport Art Center offers. A unique mix of masonry, lighting and wood – it’s an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue!

Eddie and Michelle had both their ceremony and reception at Bridgeport Art Center and we documented and photographed every single detail. Their cute corgis were present throughout all the decor.

Let me tell you…that first kiss during the ceremony was absolutely incredible. We’re not sure if they practiced the dip but wow, they nailed it! It was such a great ceremony to photograph!!

Eddie and Michelle’s reception at the Brigeport Art Center was so fun! Their first dance was out of this world. I mean WOW!

The cake, the decor, the music….everything was on point. The speeches were so kind and sweet. It was just an amazing wedding to be a part of and we are glad we were there!

Cheers to Eddie + Michelle and thanks for selecting Fox + Ivory, the best boutique wedding studio in Chicago, to be a part of your wedding day!
